Volunteer Workday We need your help hand pulling spotted knapweed, an invasive weed that could take over in this neat prairie remnant. Removing this plant will improve habitat for native species and give the native wildflowers more room to grow. Please wear long pants and long sleeves as some individuals are sensitive to this plant. Volunteers from the REI store in Ann Arbor will be joining us Meet on Waterloo Road just west of M-52. Battle of Waterloo Waterloo Recreation Area will host the "Battle of Waterloo" on August 15 beginning at 7:30am. This battle has ten legs that will include biking remote roads, swimming three wilderness lakes, climbing steep hills and running winding dirt lanes. NO RACE DAY ENTRIES - Registration closes Friday, August 13 at noon. Entry fees include: tech T-shirt, running hat, sponsor product samples, great food and drinks after the race and more. All motor vehicles entering a state park or recreation area must display a 2010 Motor Vehicle Permit until October 1, 2010. These permits are available for purchase at the park entrance and headquarters. For more information about the park call (734) 475-8307.
